Borneo is home to some of the most pristine and oldest rainforests on Earth with a vast array of plants and the world’s rarest and most impressive wildlife. It is a country steeped in culture with its many tribes and rich history.
Borneo is a fantastic destination to learn about conservation and environmental issues. The vast rainforests are teeming with exotic wildlife including proboscis monkeys, macaques, sun bears, pygmy elephants, and orangutans. Students can interact with orangutans at the Sepilok Orangutan Sanctuary which assists injured and orphaned orangutans to be rehabilitated in a natural habitat. A highlight is always a special visit to the Orangutan Nursery. Students will also visit the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre, which manages and improves the living conditions of rescued sun bears.
