Ireland’s Legendary Links Journey including Royal Portrush

This Irish links journey begins in Dublin with the opening round at the exceptional The Royal Dublin Golf Club, widely regarded as one of Ireland’s most dramatic and authentic links experiences. The tour then travels north toward the rugged coastline of Northern Ireland, where the itinerary features the legendary Royal Portrush Golf Club—home of the Dunluce Links and host of The Open Championship. Set among towering dunes overlooking the North Atlantic, Royal Portrush stands as the most celebrated course on this journey and one of the most revered links courses in the world.

From the North Coast, the experience continues westward into the wild landscapes of Donegal and along the spectacular Wild Atlantic Way, where remote links courses sit dramatically between mountains and sea.

Designed for discerning golfers who appreciate authenticity, pedigree, and understated luxury, the journey blends championship links golf with Ireland’s raw coastal scenery and refined hospitality. Private luxury coach service throughout ensures seamless travel between regions, allowing the focus to remain on the golf, the landscape, and the shared experience.

This is Ireland in its purest golfing form—wind-shaped fairways, towering dunes, storied clubhouses, and evenings well spent among friends.

he outstanding Championship Strand Course was the host for the 2017 Dubai Duty Free Irish Open. Jon Rahm, the 2017 Winner was certainly impressed, “the golf course is amazing. It’s probably one of the most beautiful golf courses I have ever seen, if not the most”.

The views from almost every hole are quite simply, magical. The Atlantic is never very far away and the beauty of the course has to be seen to be believed. It is a treat that will take a very long time, if ever, to fade from the golfers memory.

Tom Doak & team have breathed new life into this spectacular site at the Rosapenna Golf Resort in County Donegal.

Originally encompassing 36-holes, Tom has fashioned 18 unrecognizable and unforgettable holes over the same tract of land. The result? A sprawling links that is destined to become a modern great.

The routing takes golfers on a journey through huge dunes, to high above Sheep Haven Bay, along the coast, then back over some more gentle dunes... and that's just the front nine! With plenty of width and an eclectic mix of naturalized bunkers, the course is unlike anything in the UK & Ireland... or anywhere else for that matter."

Originally designed by Eddie Hackett and later enhanced by Tom Doak and others, Carne today offers 27 holes, most notably the Hackett Course and the Wild Atlantic Dunes, each showcasing bold elevations, blind shots, and expansive views of sea and sky. The absence of nearby development, combined with ever‑changing coastal winds and firm playing conditions, creates a pure links experience that rewards imagination and nerve. Carne is admired not only for its challenge but also for its sense of isolation and authenticity, making it a hidden gem among the world’s great seaside golf courses.
